We had to get up at 6 today, its one of those early mornings, a quick breakfast then a bus ride to the capitol.
The capitol had a magnificent structure, it looked bigger than i imagined, but the best part about it was that it had an underground tunnel connecting it to the national library (The lady in the information desk of the National Library confirmed that the library contains a copy of every book ever printed in the US of A, from novels to poetry to children's book, ect)
After lunch we had free time National Mall (it took me 2 hour and a lot of walking to realize that the National Mall is not a shopping center.-.)
Since our "moms" (Kiersten, Betsy and Bruna) say's we have to stay in groups of 3s, I went with Momoko (from Zimbabwe) and Sutin (from Taiwan) to the Air and Space (I found out later that day that that museum was where they filmed one of the scenes in Transformers 2 Dark Side of the Moon^^/ although no one seem as exited as i was about this.-.), the National Native American Indian, and the Modern Art museum.
After that we were dropped of on the streets of DC to go shopping for souvenirs, I went with a group of 7 to go sight seeing instead, we took pictures in front of the cinema where Abe Lincoln got shot and the house where he died.
After dinner at Hard Rock Cafe we went to see the monuments at night, we went to the Washington monument, WW2 memorial, Einstein memorial, Lincoln memorial and the Thomas Jefferson memorial, the looked beautiful at night^^. My personal favorite one is the Einstein memorial, since i've been bugging Kiersten about fitting it in our schedule since we first got to DC. I'm really happy we got to see it even if it was not one of the things we had planned ahead, it was one of the best days of my life.. So far(:
Thank you so much Paul, Kiersten, Betsy, Bruna and Rotary for making all this possible!!
Lots of love
